I had agree with Peter Bregman in his
article on Sanford: he shouldn't have done it, but sometimes things happen that are hard to control. We should have compassion.
Even
in his e-mails, Sanford seem respectful as he was dealing with emotions he didn't feel he could contain in his "hopelessly impossible situation of love". To some degree I think it's hard to understand what people are thinking and feeling until you are in their
shoes.
Jon Stewart's closing line on this is pretty much on the
money.
